Next Concert Make sure you get your tickets in plenty of time to see Nottingham Symphony Orchestra in concert action on Saturday March 9, with an evening of exciting European classics at the city's Albert Hall. The evening will feature acclaimed Nottingham-born pianist Claire Hammond in Walton's electrifying Sinfonia Concertante, Sibelius' ever popular tone poem Finlandia, his epic Symphony No.2, and the glorious Neilsen Helios Overture. Conductor for the evening will be rising star Joe Davies. An evening not to be missed. And if you want still more... NSO will be presenting a memorable evening of music to lift the spirts on Saturday May 11 in St Mary's Church, Nottingham. Acclaimed, Nottingham-born clarinetist Matt Glendening will play Crusell's ever popular 2nd Clarinet Concerto, alongside Rachmaninov's richly lyrical 2nd Symphony. Completing the programme are Wagner's epic Tannhauser Overture and the full-blooded symphonic poem October by Shostakovich. Concert Review An excited audience of almost 700 joined NSO on the afternoon of Sunday 10th December in Nottingham's Albert Hall for a family friendly Christmas concert featuring popular Christmas music, Christmas songs and audience participation carols. Under the expert baton of guest conductor Stephen Bullamore and with appearances by top vocal soloists Cara Dudgeon and Gareth Wynne it was two hours of festive fun!
