Concert Triumph... An enthusiatic audience of over two hundred joined NSO on Saturday May 11th in Nottingham's St Mary's Church for a memorable evening of music to lift the spirits. Acclaimed Nottingham-born clarinetist Matt Glendening played Crusell's lively 2nd Clarinet Concerto, alongside Rachmaninov's richly lyrical 2nd Symphony. Completing the programme was Wagner's epic Tannhäuser Overture and the full-blooded symphonic poem October by Shostakovich. Guest conductor for the evening was Mark Prescott. A night to remember.

Next Concert NSO will end the 23/24 season on Saturday 6th July in Southwell Minster with a spectacular collection of orchestral blockbusters. Accompanying the thrilling Shostakovich Festive Overture and Mussorgsky's atmospheric tone poem Night on the Bare Mountain, Katie Stillman will play Korngold's lyrical, filmic Violin Concerto. Katie is making a welcome return to the Orchestra after a stunning performance of the every popular Bruch Scottish Fantasy last year. The concert ends with an epic orchestral showpiece, the Saint-Säens' Organ Symphony. Directing the Orchestra for the evening will be Paul Hilliam. Tickets are available via TicketSource, email and phone. For full details see the Next Concert page.
