Acclaimed, Nottingham-born clarinetist Matt Glendening will play Crusell's ever popular 2nd Clarinet Concerto, alongside Rachmaninov's richly lyrical 2nd Symphony. Completing the programme are Wagner's epic Tannhäuser Overture and the full-blooded symphonic poem October by Shostakovich. Tickets are available via TicketSource, email and phone. For full details see the Next Concert page. Marshalling the Orchestra's considerable forces will be guest conductor Mark Prescott.

Concert Triumph An excited audience of over three hundred assembled in Nottingham's Albert on Saturday 9th March to see Nottingham Symphony Orchestra in a concert of dramatic European classics. The evening featured a bravura performance of Walton's electrifying Sinfonia Concertante given by virtuoso pianist, Nottingham-born Claire Hammond, Sibelius' ever popular tone poem Finlandia, his epic Symphony No.2, and the glorious Neilsen Helios Overture. Following the Walton, Clare delighted the audience with an encore by Cécile Chaminade. Conductor for the evening was rising star Joe Davies under whose inspired baton the Orchestra played out of their skins. A thrilling evening.
